BEWARE OF CUSHION COMPACTS AND COMODOGENIC TOOLS

Image
There is a global trend spreading like wildfire and just so very conveniently so is adult acne. It involves a trend called the cushion compact that originated in Korea. A cushion compact looks like a regular powder compact only there's liquid inside covered by a urethane foam cushion that looks similar to a ink stamp pad cushion. The advantage of the cushion is it's supposed to help disperse the liquid so that it's not applied as thick as BB cream might straight out of the tube. I first saw the cushions at the packaging trade shows years ago, but I officially began to see them on the market in some local Korean stores here in NYC a while back. I never thought they would become as big as they have just because the compacts can be bulky (then again so have our cell phones). Even though forecasting is one of my specialties I also never thought BB cream would take off the way they did either. According to my Korean contacts when a trend takes off it becomes viral because everyo...

STRESS AND HAIRLOSS CURES

Image
Photo Courtesy Livestrong.com Last week I had attended a tradeshow event here in NYC. There were a lot of great brands with some future market potential. There was one company in particular that had a hair growth supplement that I will eventually reveal if our testing brings forth positive independent results.  I can say it had a lot of great stuff in it, but in the end it's all about absorption. Hair loss in women is becoming a major issue lately and this company reminded me that hair loss is about much more than products that clog your scalp or the lack of blood flow that happens at the neckline when you have stress (which restricts nutrients from getting to the scalp). Dr. Pugliese even says that women's hair loss these days can be caught like a cold just by sleeping in the same bed with a man who has hair loss issues! It doesn't help that we are in a constant fight or flight society! What I loved at the show other than being forced to get my nails done is the fact tha...

VITAL KOREAN BEAUTY SKIN TIP

Image
Have you ever just washed your skin and felt that dry, tight feeling? That's the feeling of our own body's precious moisture escaping into the atmosphere! Over the years I have learned from the Koreans that the first 3 seconds after you cleanse your skin is the most vital moment in skincare! When we cleanse our skin we strip it of natural oils and protection that keeps moisture in. Most of us might throw on a toner  and eventually a cream, but according to the Koreans we are just doing it all wrong. The dry air of winter can already dehydrate the skin if you're not protected. The Koreans believe that spraying your skin with special moisture or an alcohol-free toner will not only prevent dehydrated skin (which would have resulted in collagen loss), but it will help maximize the effects of the products that go on after this imperative step. In fact, the Korean skincare steps that ALL Koreans follow are: 1. Cleansing oil 2. cleansing foam 3. toner or toner spray like 4. Serum ...

YOU'RE ONLY AS OLD AS YOU THINK

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news , world news , and news about the economy This Tuesday Tip is brought to you by my friend Elizabeth Kemp. If you speak with most successful and healthy people in the world they will usually say it simply begins with how you think. At 96 the world's oldest yoga teacher Tao Porchon-Lynch believes she is ageless and can self renew just like trees have done for hundreds of years. This is a woman who wakes up every day and believes it will be her best day ever......and it seems to be working! I say it always helps to just be thankful. Always be thankful.  Thank you Elizabeth for sharing this!
