COFFEE ZITS

Magnesium is essential in how your cells communicate and function. Another reason coffee or caffeine for that matter can be bad for you is that it blocks the absorption of Vitamin D. You need calcium to absorb vitamin d if you take it orally. Vitamin D is also fat soluble so you also need to make sure there is fat present for it to absorb. This is one reason wild salmon is important to have in your diet. Salmon is a healthy, fatty fish with Vitamin D. Vitamin D is necessary for our immune system. YOUTH TOOL: APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Photo courtesy rapidweightlossnow.com I'm not sure if you've seen the MANY claims being made for apple cider vinegar  and thus MANY people ask me what I think about apple cider vinegar (the fermented juice of crushed apples). For me apple cider vinegar has two amazing health benefits: it forces the body to be alkaline and supports good bacteria in the colon. There are many other benefits/properties of apple cider vinegar like the vitamins and amino acids, but for me there are really two main categories of benefits, which I will highlight below. As we've discussed in the past making the body alkaline helps to eliminate many problems. As a Flight Attendant clients are always asking me how I manage to avoid getting sick while flying multiple flights a week.   Here are a few pointers to give your immune system a fighting chance - A couple of days before your trip begin increasing your daily dose of vitamin C . Also add a couple of drops of Oregano Oil to an 8 ounce cup of water and drink in the morning and before bed. Oregano Oil is known for it's powerful antiviral properties. On the day of your flight mix a couple of drops of Tea Tree oil (a wonderfully antiseptic and antiviral oil!) with a small amount of coconut oil (or your favorite carrier oil). Apply this mixture around the outside of the nasal passages and ear openings to help avoid nasty germs entering the bod...

WHY TONER IS IMPORTANT

When I was growing up I used to think that toner was a sales gimmick to force me to buy yet another beauty product. When I became an esthetician  I learned our skin had a protective layer called the acid mantle. This acid mantle is comprised of lipids (good oils) that are meant to protect our skin from bacteria, viruses and other invaders. When we use soap on our face to cleanse the skin it strips this oil (that we need) by raising the pH (lowering the acidity) of our skin. This is how the oils are dissolved. When you raise the pH the skin needs to be brought back to its acidic ways otherwise the oil that was naturally protecting our skin is compromised. To make matters worse we then scrub our fragile skin causing an even greater compromise to the skin. Bacteria can't live in an acidic environment. Toner acts as an acid/protector on a temporary basis until the skin can renew its acid mantle. The truth is most toners are horrible for the skin because they have alcohol in them. God k...
